First, I would like to thank an anonymous reader for lodging his/her comment ‘What interesting to do and see in Shenzhen City?’ in my previous article.
Shenzhen is a first class Chinese city in Southern China’s Guangdong Province. It is the gateway to the China mainland from the former British Crown colony Hong Kong. Once a fishing village, Shenzhen become a 21st century city when it was converted into Special Economic Zone by the former reformist leader Deng Xiaoping in the late 1970s. ..to be continued.

Shenzhen City: How to go there?
Ten years ago, traveling to Shenzhen City is an experience you won’t forget where you have to race to the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Louhu border to beat the kilometer queue where locals either block your way or cut your line. If you have not visited Shenzhen for years, you will be amazed of the changes.
If you are arriving at Hong Kong International Airport, you got several options to take.
1. Take a shuttle bus directly to Shenzhen via Huang Gang port.
2. Take a ferry transfer at Hong Kong International Airport avoiding the immigration queue. Ferries sail regularly to Shekou and Fuyong port in Shenzhen.
3. Take a bus to the MTR station in Sheung Shui which is the nearest station to the Louhu port then take the MTR train to the border.
4. Take the Airport Express train to Kowloon or Central Hong Kong then transfer to an MTR train to the border.
If you are flying directly to Shenzhen City, you will be arriving at Baoan International Airport which is located at the northwestern part of the Shenzhen suburb. You can call your hotel to pick you up from the airport, take a taxi, or take a shuttle bus to downdown Shenzhen.
